The annual global summit has been forced to delay the World Travel & Tourism Council for the second time. It was initially scheduled to take place in Puerto Rico.
The twentieth annual staging of the event has been officially announced earlier in the year, which would be moved to Cancun in late April.
The event has now been scheduled in autumn as the coronavirus continues to spread all around the world at great speed. WTTC Chief executive, Gloria Guevara said that the countries that look forward to hosting their Global Summit in the autumn have their solidarity.
They are with the governments, countries, and organizations which have been affected by this virus. The support will continue to these associations until it is totally tackled. They find the way and act on the critical issues across the international agenda. The governor of the Roo, Carlos Joaquin added that they had not been affected by the Covid-19.
But they will stand for the government, countries, and the organizations to give them support and will provide the necessary requirements if needed.
He also added that against the global backdrop of Covid-19, Cancun and the state of Quintana Roo are planning to arrange the full schedule meetings and the events which will definitely include the conventions against the Covid-19 which has affected the world.
