Statistics show that 42.1 million people visited Las Vegas last year while in 2019, it received 42.5 million people which is a significant growth in visits.
Hotels or resorts in the city also benefited as it was recorded that almost 88.9 % of resorts were occupied and the average rate of rooms was also up 2.9% over last year. There is an estimated number of 130,000 rooms combined of all the Las Vegas hotels.
From the world’s top 25 hotels, 15 of them are located in Las Vegas. The data also suggest that the average stay of the tourists was 3.5 days.
Las Vegas has also been proved as the best destination place for both business and leisure tourism, making a record of 6.6 million meetings or convention attendees last year. One of the most interesting things about Vegas is that there are more than 300 weddings per day, so it is the top wedding destination also in the US.
According to the research done by the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors’ authority, the number beats the previous records set in 2017 and its 2.3% increase over 2018.
It has many things to provide to travellers as a few new venues have been added, attractions, places and events are planned to debut in 2020. There will also be hosting of the NFL draft in April, and its raiders will be launching at $2 billion Allegiant Stadium for the 2020-2021 NFL season.
In Las Vegas valley and southern Nevada, tourism has earned $58 billion annually. Las Vegas has the most premium and luxurious hotel booking in the world.
It also provides about 40% of employment within Clark country, and the industry also supports 370,000 local jobs.
