Hilton has teamed up with American Express across the United States in fighting against coronavirus on the front lines by donating up to one million hotel room nights to medical professionals.
The giant hotel will make rooms available to doctors, nurses, EMTs, paramedics and another frontline medical staff without any charge. It will be available for those who need to recharge or isolate themselves from their families.
This will begin in the next week of April 13 through the end of May. To add and coordinate the massive effort, Hilton is teaming up with 10 associations. These associations represent more than one million healthcare workers to access the program.
This also includes the American Hospital Association, American Nurses Association and more. The Hilton hotels and resorts are known for their best hospitality and infrastructure.
Hilton hotels CEO Christopher J. Nassetta said in the statement that they have seen many examples of medical professionals who sacrifice their own needs for the greater good and also work in the most challenging circumstances during the crises.
He also added that they are honoured to extend their Hilton hospitality to them during this difficult time as they are true heroes.
The American College of Emergency Physician, President William Jaquis, MD FACEP said that the room donation will be a welcome relief for many of the medical staff who work long hours under the challenging circumstances.
Nassetta said that many of the hotel owners around the country are eager to help and support their communities and be a part of the solution. There are a variety of the Hilton hotel brands which are participating in this noble deed.
The list of Hilton hotels includes; Hampton by Hilton, Hilton Garden Inn, DoubleTree by Hilton and others.
Earlier in this month, two million medical masks and 20,000 protective suits were donated by the Las Vegas Sands as a helping hand to the healthcare professionals.
